I can’t stand artificial sweeteners and I seriously hate how they are considered safe by the FDA because they are not.
I’ve got a link to an article from the National Center of Biotechnology Information, U.S. National Library of Medicine that’s really got my panties in a bunch this morning, seems they know that Splenda alters the microflora in our gut, but still consider it safe for consumption.
That’s the stuff that keeps our bellies and digestive system happy, nothing you want to mess with.
I will never understand how the artificial sugar craze is as huge as it is, the stuff tastes awful, costs too much and is terribly bad for you. All to save 16 calories? If you’d like to learn more, click here.
If you must use an alternative sweetener, look for stevia but make sure it’s green. The white stuff’s been over processed to bits, taking out the good. It’s not the easiest to find, but it’s worth it.
BTW- The light blue and pink alternatives are no better or safer for you. When in need of sweet go for raw honey, stevia or unbleached cane sugar or cane juice, they’re safer, cleaner and just plain better.
