Recipe- Stupid easy refreshment
- Jun 28th 2012
This is one of my all-time favorite summer snacks, refreshing and insanely simple, kids love it too. You’ll need:
- A watermelon- Ideally, I look for organic with seeds, the ones without kinda freak me out. (How do they breed?)
- Some grapes- Seeded organic for me.
Ready for the tough part?
- Chop up the watermelon into big bite sized chunks and put into a bowl.
- Add grapes.
- Put in freezer & wait a few hours, taa daa, snacks and dessert!
Seriously refreshing and delicious, everybody loves it too.
For you adults out there- the watermelon makes a nice base for either frozen drinks or as ice cubes in an alcoholic drink. I prefer it after it’s been in a blender, the ‘ice cubes’ can get a little gross if they sit too long.
Watermelon is by far my favorite melon to freeze, but a cantaloupe slushy is pretty tasty too.
Bon appetit.
I love watermelon slushies after a run! A little lemon juice, some honey and some seltzer in the blender makes the perfect post workout refresher! A little fresh mint is nice too!
