You might want to rethink that steak from China

There really isn’t much to say about this besides please read the article. The piece comes from First We Feast dot com, it’s called “22 Tons Of Fake Beef Seized In China” and was written by Erin Mosbaugh.

This is what happens when people don’t question their food and just accept very low prices. This is also why the majority of meat I buy is from trusted sources, one being the farmer’s market, the other being the butcher who has been open for over 60 years in my neighborhood.

I have also dramatically reduced the amount of meat I eat, between Mad Cow, pink slime, ammonia rinses and this article, I no longer think it’s as safe as they say, and this article is another example of shadiness in the food industry.¬†Good food is not cheap, but it is far less expensive in the U.S. than it is in Europe and many other countries.

Remember, if it’s too good to be true, it is. That goes for everything, even your groceries. When it comes to meat, buy the best you can afford and eat less, do like the Japanese and use meat for flavor but fill up on veggies and grains. Your wallet and body will thank you. Don’t sweat protein levels, we need far less than we get daily.

Be wary of cheap meat, it’s that way for a reason.
